Live-In Guestmaster/Caretaker Position Available The Jesuit Retreat Center, located in Parma, OH, has an opening for a live-in guestmaster/ caretaker. This is an on-site position which is primarily a “ministry of presence”.

The role involves overnight supervision of the facility, in the absence of other staff. The primary responsibility is to provide a dependable presence on-site, welcoming guests and being available to respond to any occasional after-hours needs or emergencies. The position requires overnight presence five-six nights per week and generally full day on Saturday. This is an ideal position for a retired/semi-retired person or graduate student. The role includes a private suite at the JRC with living room, bedroom, bathroom, storage space and a garage parking space. The role provides free internet and cable TV as well as meals provided by JRC food service. There is a modest monthly stipend. The Jesuit Retreat Center is the longest continuously operating retreat center in the United States. Each year we welcome more than 5,000 individuals to the center. Approximately 75% of our retreatants arrive as part of a high school, college, church, or other hosted group. The remaining 25% are participants in JRC retreats and programs. We host individuals for day, overnight, weekend and multiple day and night staffs. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. A flexible and outgoing personality, able to deal with a variety of tasks. References and background check will be required prior to an offer of employment.
