SVDP Logistics Manager
We are looking for a responsible individual to maintain and distribute products to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) hunger and resource centers. Responsibilities include delivery of high volumes of food and other items to locations throughout Cuyahoga and Summit Counties. The role will require regular and effective interaction with SVDP personnel and the staff at the Greater Cleveland Food Bank (GCFB). The ability to adapt to a dynamic schedule and add in one-time deliveries on short notice is expected from time to time. To be considered for this role, candidate must be comfortable operating a 16-foot box truck and have experience or be willing to learn how to load products with a forklift inside the SVDP warehouse. Applicants should have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record with no traffic violations. This is a full-time position, and a competitive benefits package will be available to the successful candidate. The role will report directly to the SVDP Executive Director.
Responsibilities
• Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a delivery vehicle
• Pickup and deliver a variety of perishable/non-perishable items to SVDP hunger and resource centers
• Maneuver a 16-foot box truck into loading or unloading positions
• Collect and verify GCFB and other vendor invoices (i. e. for beds, blankets, a local bakery, etc.)
• Maintain pantry stock, assist in stocking, and report inventory levels for re-ordering
• Document mileage and retain fuel/toll receipts
• Schedule regular service appointments for vehicle and report any issues, accidents or violations
• Follow DOT regulations and safety standards
Additional Requirements
• A valid driver's license with no recent moving or driving violations
• Ability to frequently lift heavy packages and containers
• Ability to operate a forklift (or willingness to learn) and pallet jacks
• Being punctual, reliable, and willing to adapt quickly to overcome setbacks, schedule changes, and deliver intended results
• A positive approach and attitude that will allow for effective relationships with a wide variety of people, fellow team members, and volunteers at each SVDP facility
