The Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) is an action, education program, initiated in 1969 by the Catholic Bishops of the United States. The mission of CCHD which is to attack the causes of poverty by empowering the poor is rooted in the basic principles of the social teachings of the Catholic Church.
